Which episode do you guys, think that there was no turning back from the dark side of lex? For me personally its descent, there is nothing more darker then killing your own father. However some may argue that lex own greed and wanting to knock Jonathan Kent, out of the Senate race no matter what the cost was pretty messed up, as well.
shareWithout a doubt Descent. Lex still had a tiny bit of humanity left in him even after that episode. After Descent all the humanity in Lex disappeared. From that point on he was the true enemy of Superman. He was the Lex Luthor he was destined to be.
shareLex had many points through Smallville where he reached crucial points of no return, I feel the most defining in shaping his future (in addition to the futures of everyone else in his life) came in "Lexmas", but no doubt "Descent" is when his transformation to the 100% full-fledged Lex Luthor is complete. You also got the subtle moments like when he first lies to Clark in direct retaliation to a lie he was told (end of "Run"), when his darker side started balancing just a bit over his lighter (end of "Onyx"), when he was finally ready to let his father die (Season 4 finale), not to mention the end of his friendship with Clark. There were also more blunt vital spots like Jonathan's passing was losing the last person he truly respected, the first time Lex hsd an innocent person killed ("Cyborg"), when any lingering love he had for Lana became pure obsession (end of "Fallout"), and of course when he cast aside any admiration he had left for Julian by killing his clones (in the process no longer caring to have his father's love).
Lex's journey was a long one, but like Clark's, we saw every chapter from baby-steps to flight.

I'm gonna have to go with Lexmas on this one.
But that could just be because it's one of my favorite episodes of the series and I like the what if dream state episodes.
Descent, killing Lionel was the last straw, and his face off with Clark at the end, truly started the Luthor vs Superman rivalry.
shareScrew all of these posts! Lol kidding. But for me, there was never a point where Lex couldn't have turned back. Lionel did worse things before becoming Jor-El's sidekick. And Clark promised him he'd never give up hope. Okay, I'm a sap, but I just loved their friendship so much, I guess I'm not ready to admit that a point of no return was reached.

shareDecent for sure. If Lionel had only been the kind of father to Lex around season 7 all along but then it wouldn't be true to the characters.
shareI don't know. I think Lex eventually turns on Lionel no matter what out of paranoia that his father would betray him at any moment.
I've been wondering what would happen had Lex and Zod formed an alliance in the later seasons instead of tess. The dialog would surely be amazing.
