Jon Hamm

So for some reason (I can't even begin to fathom why) my husband decided we should watch this on Netflix. He forgot that he had seen it before. Anyway, at the beginning of the film, I found myself shouting out, "Hey, that's Jon Hamm!" They kept showing close ups of his face, but after a certain point, it's like he just disappeared. Is he shown in any of the battle scenes? Just wondering.

All that being said, I'm not going to compare this to Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, or Casualties of War. I will just say, of all the Vietnam movies I've seen, this one is the cheesiest. The story itself is good, but the writing is bad and oftentimes, the acting is horrendous.

This post will self-destruct...

I know this response is a little late but yes he is shown alot in the battle scenes, he's one of the main radio operators at the termite mound with Mel Gibson. I'm sure u prolly watched the movie and saw this but I figured I'd answer anyways, hope this helped if u didn't :)

I just caught this today. Haven't watched it since it came out. It was on cable and I started it shortly before the battle starts. Then I was like IT'S DON DRAPPER!!! Then I was AND AGENT COULSON!!!! I love watching movies I haven't seen in a long time and go "Holy *beep* they are in this? They look so young."

Lol I do the same thing. It's amazing watching movies made in the early 2000's that I've seen dozens of times and seeing actors/actresses who had small roles or were just starting out then and never paying much attention to who they were until now that they are big time stars. Blows my mind.

To me he "looked like" Jon Hamm, yes, but not always, i.e., I have to go here to find out (I skipped the credits).

BTW I didn't recognize Sam Elliot.
