Kerouac the creative flame
I just rewatched this rough-edged but compelling indie film from 2004, which really captures & expresses the essence of Jack Kerouac as creative spirit. It's always difficult to make films about writers, since what's most important about them is what's going on inside while they're writing, which can be difficult to convey onscreen. But this little film about the spirit of Kerouac returning for one night decades after his death, in order to provide inspiration to three lost & struggling creative people, really works. I wish more people knew about it.
