Help with Hawaiian slang...

Guys:

Either Hawaiian or Surfer slang I need help with...when the gang was riding their surfboards during 'Hawaiian RollerCoaster'; at the end Jumba burst thru the wave, grabs Stitch & upending Nani & Lilo off their board....Nani said something like 'Some Lolo stuck us in a barrel'; what exactly does THAT mean, I mean LITERALLY?

Well, I know lolo means crazy, and around the late 19th/early 20th century in America, murder victims were sometimes stuffed into barrels after being killed. In other words: "Some crazy guy tried to kill us."

Nathaniel: Sire, do you...like yourself?
Edward: What's not to like?

reply

Lol, and she's all calm about it. XD

the barrel is part of a wave... think like the tube part, when you're encased.

hope that helps!!!=)

technically not Hawaiian Slang, which would be neo-Hawaiian words like Kalaka (truck) or Kapakahi (mixed up).

this is pidgin:

Lolo = crazy; and depending on the tone: dumb_ss
she so lolo.
ho, dat LOLO wen try for run me off da road, brah!

Stuck; Stick = to tackle; e.g. american football
did you see that game las' night? Kaipo almost got stuck, but da bugger wen scramble like John Elway brah!
we need to start sticking their running backs or it's gonna be a long day.

Barrel = the tube of the wave; often referred to in the first-person as in "my wave." Messed with me in a barrel means it was my wave. My barrel.

translated:
"Some dumb@ss tackled us in OUR wave!"

and if he misses the tackle...

"Some LOLO tried for stick us in a barrel!"

notice the usage of Stuck vs. Stick.

noone wants to hear what you dreamt about unless you dreamt about... them
