Stitch is more observant than I recalled.
Finally saw this film again after several years, and was interested to see how much of the film is Stitch watching and viewing things. He isn't an incessant chatterbox like most cartoon characters these days.
I was thinking of the scene on the beach. He's just standing a ways away watching everyone play on the sand, or even in the scene of him watching Nani arguing with Cobra after the house has been destroyed.
There are so many quiet scenes. You never get that in most films these days. So many films are really frenetic in their execution (Dreamworks for example).
