What do you think could have made this movie better?

Lets get right on the case to what (at least for me) could have made the movie better;

- The script; The plot had much potential, but rather depicts the events in a very, very chaotic way. Instead of telling a coherent story, the script jumps from event to event. It was enough with depicting Lilo and Nani coping with their situation and trying go adapt Stitch into their "Ohana", but as that wasn't enough, they had to throw in Jumba and Pleakley hunting for Stitch, Cobra Bubbles as the ticking clock for Lilo and Nani and a love interest for Nani (though the latter wasn't a bad thing, though, but it wasn't really developed and became "the third wheel", if you know what I mean). The main theme of the film was how to be a family, so the subplots felt rather distractive.

- The relationship between the main characters; Sure, Stitch wasn't programmed to feel any emotions at all, but I still felt that he was a heartless and quite rotten character that it was hard to feel any compassion for. It seemed like the film wanted the audience to feel more sorry at Stitch than at Lilo, alhought it was easier to pity her. Though she could be mean, too, she showed her heartfelt side, which Stitch didn't at before the very end. And even then, I didn't had compassion for him.
Besides, Lilo and Stitch has no/very little chemistry in this story. Usually in films where a duo/couple doesn't like each other at first, they usually do things together to warm up for each other. But although Stitch and Lilo does things together, they don't warm up to each other, especially not Stitch towards Lilo. Until the third act he only concern about himself. After Lilo tells him about her family's demise, Stitch leaves only because he pity himself and when Jumba finds him the following day, he runs straight to Lilo to protect himself. If he cared about her, he wouldn't have done that. They have much more chemistry in the tv series.

Okay, I know that I was mostly negative right now. I don't dislike "Lilo & Stitch", I still think it's a watchable enough movie. I like the animation, the songs, the humor. But those issues that I brought up could have made the movie more cohesive.

I understand your objections, and even agree with them a little, but for my personality, this is such a wonderful movie, that I can overlook those things.

For me, the thing I would like to see is a longer happy ending. That's what I want in all movies. This movie does a better job of extending the happy ending than most, but, if I like a movie, I always want more. And I like this movie better than any of the other 3000 I've seen. The most humorous and emotionally satisfying movie ever.

I'm glad you understand my point of view. I've always found the Lilo & Stitch lovers too defensive about the movie. Thanks.

It's funny: I know that this movie could have been better and has a few flaws that are a bit hard to analyze, yet this movie is still one of my favorites.

My main problem is just the fact that a perceived dead animal would be brought to an animal shelter and not a hospital. I understand the film is not supposed to be realistic in some parts, but come on, this was just too obvious.

With what Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois were working with to continue with the story line, I think they really dug themselves in some holes to try and patch the plot together. But all in all, they did a fantastic job in creating, simply, one of the more heart-warming animated films you will find out there. This is just one of those films where the directors did it their way despite how zany and weird the story was at times, and in the end succeeded. There is no other character like Stitch, and he will live on for eternity.
