Don't really like Stitch

Little background -- I never saw this growing up. I am 23 now and saw this movie for the first time sometime in college, and then for a second time just this afternoon. My family was/is extremely prudish and although I'm kind of beyond that now, there is a whole group of films, TV series, etc. that I didn't watch and feel no affinity for, whereas a lot of others my age do. Things like Nickelodeon shows, tons of kids' movies, etc. I wasn't allowed to watch them and was never into them.

I actually really like this movie because I find it very sweet and really like the animation and Hawaiian scenery. That being said, I really don't like Stitch. The whole snot thing, the things he does that is pure kid humor, and so on... He just annoys me. This is probably just because I never experienced pure 90s-00s kid humor and can't really appreciate it from that lens.

Anyone else really like the movie but hate Stitch? Or have I just been forced into premature pretension?
