You must be new to The Tribe so I’ll go easy on you ;)

Cloud 9 had a very strict rule about cast members dating and missing there roll calls (shooting schedule). Well, as the story goes, Cloe (Jaimee Kaire-Gataulu) and Ved (Dan Weekes-Hannah) were an off camera item as well as on camera. Again, as the story goes, one day of shooting Jaimee and Dan took off and went into town and blew off a shoot. This cost Cloud 9 thousands of dollars and a lost day of shooting. As a result Jaimee was fired instantly and Dan was fired shortly after that. The episode your referring to was the writers attempt to quickly write Cloe out of the show.

I hope I have answered your question on this matter. There are many others on this site that could explain it much better then I have.

All the best.

i does help, thanx. i had heard that it was because of inter-cast dating. it explains where cloe went i guess, but perhaps the writers could have done a better job of explaining the switch. then again, it all seems to have a lot of plotholes and unexplained character disapearences. i love this show, am re-watching it again on that site, remember seeing it when i was a kid. just wish it did a better job of explaining things.

Your right. The Tribe writers were not very good at last minute fixes. I remember in series 1 when the actor that played Paul left the show very suddenly. It was one simple line like “Lex yelled at him so he ran away”.

From interviews that I have read online The Tribe filmed 52 episodes in a 16 week shoot. That’s crazy! All the writing was done months before the actors ever made it on set. They would shoot all the scenes, out of order in one location then set up and shoot all the scenes out of order for the next location. For instance, the cameras and lighting would all be setup in the café in the mall. Then they would shoot all the scenes for that season out of order before moving all the cameras and lighting to the next location and shooting all the seasons scenes in that location. That is why you will see little continuity problems with the actors hair, clothes and makeup from scene to scene…fun to look for when your watching The Tribe for the 2nd or 3rd time around…LOL
