Series 2

Okay I might be alone in my thinking but does anyone else find this series kind of boring? Apart from Salene throwing herself at Bray (which was quite entertaining), there isn't anything interesting going on. Maybe the fact that Danni is here rather than Amber has something to do with it.

Yeah another good thing about the series was the introduction of May. I know a lot of people dislike her but I think shes a good character. I also liked Ryan and Salene getting together. They were so cute.

Yeah it was really sad when he left but then Pride was there and I liked them together as well. Salene is one of my favorite characters so I was glad when she was with a decent guy. Even though May messed that up for her I still liked her lol.

Okay so I re-watched Series 2 and I have to say that it was much better the second time around but the only thing that bothered me was Danni's double chin. She was thin everywhere else so why the double chin?

I dont think it was boring exactly but Danni just ruined it completely. She was so darn annoying i hated the woman.

I know some people like her and dont get the whole hating Danni thing but for me she ruined this series.

I discovered The Tribe during season 2. It's my second favorite season after the first one. If you think S2 was boring, then don't watch the middle half of season 5!

And as for Danni having a bit of a double chin, I find it refreshing that the Tribe featured normal looking kids, rather than the unnaturally perfect looking kids that Hollywood gives us.

reply

Yeah I actually started watching The Tribe during the end of 3, beginning of 4. I actually liked Series 5 lol. I just think the first time i was watching Series 2 I was expecting more and I think I was a little preoccupied but I like it now.

I have to agree - series 2 was a bit boring. It was sort of lacking something... Pride maybe ;-)

Time to bump up an old thread.

I'm pretty new to The Tribe (decided to give it a shot out of pure boredom and got hooked) and I actually enjoyed S2 alot, imho it worked great as a slow burning set up for S3 which I am currently on.

For a "kids" show it's actually pretty damned good most of the time, I wish kids TV was this good when I was growing up.

But man that Jack in the Box Patsy gave Chloe (I'm guessing most people here know what I'm on about) scared the crap out of me lol.

Season 2 was pretty good, I would say Season 1 & 2 were the best of The Tribe with Season 3 coming after. I thought that Season 3 lacked something and just seemed to drag a bit in the middle with the chosen invasion. Season's 4 & 5 imo were not as good as the earlier seasons.

reply

Since the fall of the Guardian S3 is starting to drag, the "trial" alone was a massive waste of time and the drama is starting to bog things down.

Up until the Guardian's downfall though it was great.

Series two was my favorite series. I liked the first series second best. The third bored me, and depressed me. After series two, the whole tribe is basically split up, and they never really unite ever again after that. In S3 many original Mallrats die/get taken off to Chosen camps and are never seen again. Then in S4 more people are taken.

I liked series two because it showed a lot of details about The Tribe. I also felt like the Chosen seemed a lot more intimidating being so mysterious and I liked the fact that every plot didn't revolve around the Chosen.

Also, series two had the best finale out of every series. The last six episodes were so action packed, it was awesome. The Chosen seemed like a definite threat at that point in the show.

For the record, I loved Danni. Yeah she was an Amber replacement, but I felt like she did more for the city than Amber could have done.

reply

Danni was okay when she wasn't throwing her doll out of the pram I just think it was a mistake to actually pair her up with Bray, they just didn't click as a couple imo.

I agree though that the things Danni did (Bill of Rights for example) were not the kind of things I could have seen Amber doing and it's pretty crappy the way that Danni was pretty much written out of existence.

When I first saw the Chosen I thought they were going to be pure cheese but from the moment they first confronted the Mallrats and turned down the Antidote I took them seriously.

One thing I think S3 has done better then any other season so far (almost finished S3 myself) is the fights.

And drunken Bray >>>>> drunken Lex imho :)

reply

I hated how Danni was written out, and it made Bray look (more than before) like a douche.

I guess the fights in S3 were decent, but I still dislike S3. It's depressing.

reply

I like Bray more when he's being as ass tbh.

The stick fight where he almost killed Ebony was one of my favorite moments of S3.

I agree that S3 is pretty depressing, I'm only two eps into S4 and all I have to say atm is The Guardian/Chosen > Ram/Techno's by a wide margin.

reply

I'm currently watching Series 4 atm also. I'm currently on episode 45, imo S3 was much better than S4. I thought alot of the plots in the fourth season were completley ridiculous, I mean we had teen issues throughout the first three seasons involving alcholism, bulimea, attempted suicide, pregnancy etc. yet in the fourth season we get virtual reality addiction?? I know they attempted making the show alot more Sci-Fi but to me it just didn't work. I can tolerate the fourth season now, it actually isn't all that bad i just thought the show lost it way a little bit during the fourth & fifth seasons, although Series 5 attempted bring back some of the teen issues we got during the earlier seasons.

reply

I liked seasons 1,2 and the first half of season 3 the best. It did loose it's way a bit in the second half of S3.

As for S4 & 5, I really don't like the Technos and I think they screwed the show up. Seasons 4 & 5 do NOT take place in the same universe as season 1! When Amber's hairstyle completely changed while she was in the middle on labor in that barn, it was a signal that we had switched to a parallel universe.

reply

I agree with everything you said.

Especially about S3 losing its way. Ned.. Ugh.

reply

UGH Ned indeed.

I felt he got what he deserved when The Guardian offed him (The Guardian was an awsome Villain imo especially in the final episodes) and hated the way Ned's actions were played down afterwards, Ned was scum plain and simple imho.

Luke was also an interesting charcter imo.

reply

I liked Luke. He and Pride were good S3 characters.
