US Fans stop waiting for a USA release.

You can get a $40 US DVD player ( Model #DVP3960) at Wal Mart that will play ALL DVD’s from all over the world.

Once you have the DVD player use this ‘hack’ to make it play all DVD’s.

region-free hack

I used the following and it worked fine for me on a recent purchase of a Philips DVP3960

Power Up the unit with NO Disc in the tray.
Open the tray
Press the SETUP Button on the remote control
Navigate to the PREFERENCES page using the Right Arrow Key
Press the DOWN ARROW one time to select
Press the 1 button on your remote control
Press the 3 button on your remote control
Press the 8 button on your remote control
Press the 9 button on your remote control
Press the 3 button on your remote control
Press the 1 button on your remote control
The current Region Code Setting will display
Use the UP/DOWN Arrow Keys to select the region required or '0' for All Regions
Press the PLAY Button on the remote control

Good Luck

Just use google to get the region-free codes for your player, it's pretty easy for all the models out there.

Yes and NO.

Almost all DVD players have cracks online to change the region-free codes. That part is correct.

But only one or two DVD manufactures (Philips being one of them) make a player that will play both NTSC and PAL format DVD’s. (check your user manual to see if your player plays both NTSC and PAL format) So by just changing the region-free codes on your current DVD player will not guarantee that it will play PAL format DVD’s. I know I have a Sony player and I did make it region-free but it still would not play PAL format DVD’s. But by all means try it on your current DVD player before you run out and get a new one. You may get lucky.

I have a cheap LG player that cost like 60 Euros 4 or 5 years ago (just that expensive because it plays DivX) and it does play NTSC without any problem (I'm in a PAL country). Anyway, the DVD player normally doesn't care if your DVDs are NTSC or Pal, your TV does.

have a Phillips now that works very well.

I am so glad people are still getting the Tribe DVD's and watching them. Also glad you were able to find a player that played them for you.

All the best.
