Everyone in Dallas knows this show is fake

If you live in Dallas (where this show is filmed) and are in your twenties, it's pretty much assured you know someone who has been on cheaters.

Newsflash: the show is not real.

I know a couple of people who have been paid to act on Cheaters. The confrontations were staged and my friend had never even met his "girlfriend."

Sad that no one is acknowledging your post. They all either want the show to be real or want to endlessly debate weather it's real or not.

They should all just agree that it's fake, The End.

reply

I'll admit, i'd love it if this show was real, it'd make it alot funner to watch :) but at times, its painfully obvious its staged.

reply

how about giving us some examples of where the show is PAINFULLY fake...

i doubt you can come up with any examples...

reply

Dark. The most PAINFULLY fake example is the guy who jumped out a window in his shorts. Hmmm, they just happen to have a camera set up across the street to get the Cheaters crew going in just as the guy is coming out the window in the same shot? A car just happens to pull over and give a crazy looking man running around in his shorts a ride?? And they go to his Mother's house a hour later and he's still in just his shorts? His mother couldn't give him something to put on? No. FAKE, painfully fake.

reply

Yes, after I saw that episode I became very skeptical about the show.
And when his 'mom' let the camera crew in she was not surprised at who were knocking at the door, she just opened and said, 'respect my home'.

You don't know what you got 'til you lose it.

reply

I just saw the episode you're talking about. The mom was not surprised because her son told her to expect his friend to show up. It's really that simple.

And why is it a big deal about him still being in his shorts? Obviously they're not revealing and he was comfortable in them.

I just don't see how this is fake.

Early on like when they had the other host Tommy Habib, it was real then Joey Greco came aboard they maintained some real cases while producing fake ones, but I'd say somewhere around the stabbing incident, they decided to start faking the show more often than not.

"Lemme at 'em! I'll splat 'em!"

reply

The show is a mix of real cases and fake ones and you can pretty much tell which are which. Gomez is a real detective and you can contact him. Tommy left the show because he didn't want to do fake cases. The simple ones are real like when they confront them in a restaurant. The fakes are the ones like they're at a costume party and all the girls are in bikins and the guy is in drag and the security guy pulls out a gun and the band gets a plug at the end.

George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.

reply

What MrBlondNYC says makes sense. The straightforward ones have a ring of truth (why obscure identity if it's 'fake'?). But Cheaters do try too hard to spice things up with fake episodes like the stabbing, clown orgy, dominatrix, tasering, etc.

reply

"why obscure identity if it's 'fake'?"

Duh, to make it look real. It's a simple trick and you obviously fell for it.

reply

For one, there are a lot of *beep* cheaters in that texas area. But either some of the segments were real, or they were really good actors. The ep today with the guy who pulled out the gun (that wasnt loaded) and gomez took it from him, some of the fakest stuff i've ever seen. That with the horrible host makes it unwatchable

reply

I too believe some of the cases are real, some fake. As stated before you can usually tell when the cases are staged. Even when blur the identities of people, some of those staged as well with the identities blurred so you won't recognize the actor(s) when they appear in another episode. I'm willing to bet the ones where the client, "the suspect," or the 3rd party return to give his/her side of the story are real.

reply

I believe some cases are fake and some are real. I refuse to believe every case is fake. I just cant believe that. I think the cases where they bust in on them having sex are totally fake. The doors just happen to be unlocked??? yeah ok.
