Song that played during credits?
Does anyone know the name of the song that played during the beginning of the credits? It sounds like I heard it somewhere else also.
TIA for any and all help.

All I remember is it was just part of the soundtrack, called "Professor Alexander Hartdgen." The end credits were a rehash of the most memorable parts of the score.

I've been trying to place it as well. It sounds just like the music from some big movie that's been out in the last five years or so... I just can't remember what it was.
shareThe song, if it is the one you guys are talking about, sounds very similar to Adiamus by Karl Jenkens. Makes me wonder if this song inspired the one made for the movie.
shareBeing somewhat of a soundtrack afficionado, I too was reminded by some other song or theme when I heard this track at the beginning and end of "The Time Machine". It plagued me for a few hours until I finally cracked it.
The track, or at least its first five or six notes, is very similar to a few tracks on the soundtrack from "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", particularly the track titled "At Wit's End".
Interestingly, Klaus Badelt, who was the composer on "The Time Machine", is also listed as the main composer of the soundtrack to "PotC: Curse of the Black Pearl". Badelt has collaborated a few times with Hans Zimmer, on "Gladiator" (to mention one film) and Zimmer did the music for the two Pirates sequels; "Dead Man's Chest" and the aforementioned "At World's End". A bit of borrowing amongst collegues, one might suspect... :)
You probably heard something similar from Gladiator, which the composer of this film also worked on.

A similar tribal theme is also used in Avatar, the James Cameron adaptation of Pocahontas Smurfs.

Another possibility is a song from "Man On Fire", which features the same "tribal singing with gibberish lyrics" thing.

But really, it's Hollywood. Everything just sort of blends together these days.
p.s. I am assuming you're referring to this end credit song of Time Machine:
