The Humans of the future were all saved from a Benetton Ad apparently.

Just saying.. there wasn't one freckle on the bunch of 'em..!

That was the whole point that the makers of this movie were trying to make: White race retreats underground (i.e. into themselves), degenerating into monsters while everybody else becomes beautiful and happy brown people. In other words, loony Hollywood distorted Well's classic tale about class struggle and human nature into yet another piece of liberal white guilt and racial self-loathing.

I think at that point in the distant future, every race would be brown or black. White people would eventually be extinct by then due to amount of interracial relationships going on today. It makes scientific sense.

I have to agree with StrontiumAE...I believe this topic was done in Time Magazine...It's referred to as the 'Golden Race'...which is composed of all the races of the world. There was nothing racist about the movie.

As the poster above me mentioned there is always an increase in interracial relationships. As the future continues there will likely be a point where there is no more racial mixing to be done.

Fact: 31.5% of IMDb users wanted Avatar to win Best Picture.

Wells' tale is about class struggle and the dark side of humanity. This silly flick is about the mutated albinoid descendents of rich whites feasting upon peaceful colored folks. Sound familiar?

"The People of Gold" have been spoken of for decades, at least.

One has but to look to see them. And, they are beautiful.

By your logic, all asians, SE Asians, South Asians, Black's, Arabs, etc are also extinct because they are all mixed. Also maybe this is just the case for the US, since you guys are all mixed anyway. A world exists outside of the US you know.

Mostly, I agree with your opinion. Thank you for posting it! (A "kind" of "time travel": Good 2012! ;) )
