friend and house keeper are horrible
The guy disapeares and his "friend" and house keeper aren't at all worried about it.
Thier like, La De Da Life moves on, we're happy he's gone.

Alexander was clearly a disturbed guy who wanted to escape his existence. His friend tried to bring him back to reality but couldn't. The friend was probably exasperated and cautiously optimistic that Alexander moved on to something/somewhere else.
Also, he had no reason to suspect anything bad. Alexander is an adult male and there was no evidence anything strange happened.
People don't just disapear.
For all they know, he could have done a swawn dive into the east river.
They could have at least shown a little concern/
They suck.
