What happens to Bishop after Beirut?

I can never figure out what Bishop does after Beirut...He tells Muir that he "is done" with him and will find/hook him up with someone else for karachi but what does he do from then on? Is he still CIA just working with someone else?

Also does he ever figure out how Redford recruited him?

What i am wondering also is he stopped working with Muir because he was disillusioned with his ethics but is'nt that how the whole CIA operates? (as the movie tried to imply) so was he not just trading one evil for another?

The funny part of that 'strange barometer for measuring sucsess" was in fact because Bishop let the Dr. get away and go to the medical camp. If he had done his job, Hadley wouldn't have gotten the Dr. And it was Bishop's love, the soft spot in his heart, that caused him to stay behind.

Well, he tells Muir he's hooked up w/ another op., but he remains in Beirut, pining for Ms. Hadley. Bishop's referred to by one of the team as "a contract agent" (working strictly for Muir), so whatever op. he's hooked up w/ either treats him the same or he becomes a full-fledged CIA operative, which is apparent once he's nabbed in China.

The CIA have abandoned him and wouldn't want anything to do with him after the huge "There's been an incident in China..." that might cause huge repercussions?
