Plot hole that reveals..
..that Uma doesn't speak japanese.
They try very hard, and some of her pronunciation is actually pretty good, for hollyweird standards.
But when she's spanking the 'youngster' with her katana and tells 'this is what you get for messing around with Yakuzas' (I am paraphrasing), she pronounces the japanese word, 'Yakuza' as HORRIBLY as only an american can.
It reminds me of that 'oriental pearl' video where she goes to a barber and tells the japanese barber how americans pronounce the word 'samurai', and the japanese barber laughs in disbelief, and says something like 'that's not even close!'.
IF Kiddo (or Uma) could _REALLY_ speak japanese, there's NO WAY they would mis-pronounce that word SO lavishly and so irritatingly. There's no way anyone can pronounce it worse and less authentically than Uma does in that scene.
This immediately kills any immersion one might've had and ruins the believability of the character.
Now that I think of it, this same character supposedly takes rock salt shots from shotgun to her chest without getting infection or needing any kind of medical attention, climbs UP from a grave and magically displaces an enormous amount of dirt and sand (in my opinion, a physical impossibility, even if you're a really strong robot and don't need to breathe or see, and you don't feel anything - you just can't get enough leverage and there's not enough room to displace that dirt, and it's basically you against the planet's weight, in a way)... also, takes a deep cut to her back from a sharp katana without needing any help and keeps fighting as if her muscles are fully functional and not weak and in full of pain, loses an enormous amount of blood without losing any blood or getting weaker, ..
Yeah.. I guess never mind..
