Didn't Like It

I personally didn't like this movie, which I can explain in four reasons:

1: I hate country music, so I didn't like the soundtrack, and it would drive me nuts when a song would come on.

2: You could always tell that Jimmy was going to throw a good pitch when the movie went to slow-motion and he'd kick the ground, etc. It made the movie predictable and it was annoying whenever it happened.

3: I found the jokes weren't funny.

4: The storyline of the nuns putting those flowers on the ground was too weird, and it didn't make sense.

If you have replies to my comments, go ahead and say them.

I agree.I was being babysat when I saw this.If I could have left the theatre, I would have.

This is probably my least favourite movie. I think it's extremely bad. I was shocked to see the rating.

i agree, it's awful and really long drawn out. i kept waiting for it to end but it kept going working more and more against itself.

My reasons for not liking this movie?

1) Unimaginative, just like 99% of all sports movies.
2) Boring, just like 99% of all sports movies.
3) Tries too hard to be liked, just like 99% of all sports movies.
4) And why in the world do 99% of all sports movies have to be based off a friggin' true story??

The only sports movie worth watching is "Bend It Like Beckham" (okay, maybe also "Remember the Titans", although it isn't anywhere near a favorite of mine). This movie, like 99% of all sports movies, was a waste of time.

1. well, it was set in texas so they were trying their best to make it as realistic and into the setting as possible. plus, they didn't put in that much country for that same reason- no one really loves it.

2. yeah, true, but you can predict most things in all movies, so why is this any different?

3. it was rated g, they had to keep it clean.

4. it was supposed to represent two things: 1) of how big lake came about; and 2) how you should always believe.

and well i guess its kinda apparent to me that you guys don't really enjoy sports movies.

I say Mr. Rookie was doubting all the time, worried to death about his family, second guessing this whole baseball thing and seriously considering dropping everything and just come back home.

I'm not sure just how this "how you should always believe" thing was working for him. All I kept thinking was his wife gave him the green light several different times in the movie, but he still wanted to come back home. I think all the worry about his family was screwing up his shot at the big time! Just imagine if he came back home.

If you are going to follow a dream and have a shot with family backing, then get the $#@&* in there and go for it!

"How you should always believe" didn't work for him, the optimum word being "should". You must be a young person, most likely single, with a lot of options at hand, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. He was under tremendous pressure to not do this; remember how is wife said she was happy when he retired the first time? Being 35 years-old with three young children to support while chasing what 99% of the time is a pipe dream will give you lots to worry about. What were the odds that he'd make the bigs? Not good at all. Even when is wife gave him the OK there was still the thoughts of his family back home scrimping to get by and the possibility of losing the job offer in D-FW, not to mention just missing his family and missing his kids development. He couldn't just think about himself and go for it.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.
