It's not the best basball movie, but....

I'm 51 and have played baseball or softball every summer since I was nine, started playing in a 35 and older wood bat baseball league four years ago and I'll watch this movie every time I come across for one reason. I watch this movie mostly for two scenes; when the manager tells him he got the call gives me goosebumps every single time and the next one when he tells his wife tears me up just as often. Just like Lynette in An Officer And A Gentleman I find myself thinkin', Way to go Jimmy, way to go. Not the best baseball movie or my favorite (Eight Men Out and Bull Durham are kinda tied for those spots) but it's still worth it for those five minutes.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.
