How do you pitch two innings the night b4 your next game 1st in bigs
pitches 2 innings, gets the call
everyone "knows" he's pitching the next day
and drive in?
his arm would really have fallen off

How do you figure his arm falls off? It's not uncommon for a reliever to pitch consecutive days and he only came in for one guy against Texsux. And rural towns are like that, word gets around quickly and Big Lake is only about 200 miles from the Metroplex.
This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.
He only threw three pitches in Arlington (the real Jim Morris threw four, read the Wikipedia entry for details).

In either case, hardly enough to make your arm fall off. It was almost certainly a lot more work for Quaid to film the scene that it was for Morris to pitch the actual game.
If you want to see what makes a guy's arm fall off, read what Kevin Costner had to go through to film "For the Love of the Game."
