Everybody Gotta Have A Dream

You know, I don't like sports movies very much. There are a few exceptions like "Field of Dreams" "The Natural" "Major League", "Little Big League and now "The Rookie" (funny they're all baseball movies).

The common theme of these movies was expressed well in "Hustle and Flow" as the title of this topic indicates.

The fact that this movie is based on a real story blows me away. I can relate to his overwhelming emotion as a middle aged "never was" to getting his shot at the dream, even if for a short time. Wow. I hate to say it, but I got choked up.

Really well done story, didn't think it was over sentimental or boring at all. Great performances by Quaid and Rachel Griffiths (who, by the way, is Australian). Just a wonderful pic. Don't ever give up on that dream.

Good sports movies always deliver this, that's why I love them. Everything from Rudy to Hoosiers... it's more than just baseball movies.
