Texas flag

I haven't seen the whole movie, so am not sure if there's an earlier scene, but towards the end of the movie they show a school (I presume it was one that Morris attended) with the U.S. flag flying above the Texas flag on the same pole.

I seriously doubt this was shot in Texas, because every school I know of (in Texas) has two flag poles - one for the American flag and one for the state flag of Texas, which is the ONLY state allowed to fly its flag at the same height as the U.S. flag. Texans are extremely proud of this, and, as I said, I doubt any state school wouldn't have a separate flagpole for the state flag.

I am a native Texan and there are flag poles with the Texas flag below the US flag all over the state. But yes we do have a lot of pride in that fact. Some places old only have one or places that may not have spent or had the money for two poles. But the fact that our flag can fly at the same height is one of the many great and glorious things about our Great State of Texas.

But if you only have one pole then the US Flag on top.

Not true. Every state can do this IAW the Flag Code:

When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's right.
