Larry David autistic?

Would Larry’s David (the character) meet the diagnostic requirements for the autism spectrum?

reply

Absolutely

reply

Why so absolute?

Which 'diagnostic requirements' would he meet, how, when and where?

I think Larry is ultimately rational being, even with his anger issues and such. He doesn't seem to have any problems with his thinking or brain per se, and I don't see any 'disease' - just a funny, slightly exaggerated persona of someone grumpy and rich. Not everything is a disease or disorde, you know.

So if you want to claim this, could you at least please elaborate in detail? Anyone can just schlap these accusations on each other, you need some kind of more thorough explanation or your is valueless and useless, just an insult towards a funny character.

Autism is now an insult? Maybe try Google next time....

reply

I agree, Larry is rational, he just holds the world in contempt.
I don't think that the OP meant autism as an insult, more as an explanation?

reply

I'm more curious as to why you would ask that question?
But, no, I don't think Larry is autistic, he is just totally self-centered and manipulative.

reply

To be diagnosed with autism, children must have social communication difficulties, and restricted, repetitive and/or sensory behaviours or interests. For a diagnosis, children must have had autism signs and symptoms from early childhood.

But there was that one episode where Larry pretended to be on the spectrum to manipulate sympathy towards him.
