Club soda and salt
Has anyone ever tried that for a stain?
shareYes, it does work!
No time for the old in-out, love. I've just come to read the meter.
The club soda part is overkill, just water and salt work the same.
The real key is keeping it moist enough to water down the stain and than using enough of the salt to absorb the water.
The use of club soda comes from it being an old bar/restaurant trick. Since it's right there on most soda fountains it becomes a fast source of clean water to wipe up with.
Because remember: tap water may have other minerals or chlorine present and tap water itself can leave stains because of this.
So the real trick is very clean water and typically club soda (at a bar/restaraunt) is going to be clean.
The best water to use would actually be distilled, but not everyone has that on hand. I keep it around because its the safest water to use for cleaning and for use in any kind of humidifier or steamer (because it doesn't leave behind a mineral residue)
I've used a lemon and salt to clean red wine off of a Formica counter. This is why I don't pour wine outside the kitchen, unless i'm outside.
