Strange technical inaccuracy in S4E5 The Five Wood

Namely, the open casket at Leo Funkhauser's funeral. Apparently this is specifically prohibited by Jewish law.

The body is never displayed at funerals; open casket ceremonies are forbidden by Jewish law. According to Jewish law, exposing a body is considered disrespectful, because it allows not only friends, but also enemies to view the dead, mocking their helpless state.

I am sure LD and the other creators of CYE would have known this.

Im not Jewish but i agree with that. Ive always found the open casket practice to be unsettling, i dont want to be viewed at all in a helpless state

reply

well you are going to be viewed in a helpless state by many people from the moment you die when they take you to the hospital, examine you, autopsy, makeup, dressing, etc.

There are tons of plotholes/goofs in Curb (example - Susie being pregnant in season 3 and it never being mentioned again thereafter)
Although it still ranks as one of the best comedies of all time, despite all this, so prettaaay good going)
