I can relate..
even though this film wont go down in history, I found myself relating to Donna. I too feel like flying away from my small town. Does anyone else ever feel trapped?

I think that yeah, I could relate to working hard and trying to get away from where I'm from. I can also relate to the setbacks and backstabbing friends!!! I also went to Paris alone a few months ago, and I also thought it would make me happy, but it didn't. Only thing I couldn't relate to.....there was no Mark Ruffalo to come home to!
shareI will admit that even though my taste in movies is usually more distinctive, that this one really touched me. I too, think that it was because I could relate very well to the Donna character in the sense that she had a fierce desire to break out & see more of the world than simply what her everyday life consisted of(and which left her feeling trapped).
I don't normally like these silly types of movies, but there are a handful of them that I looooooove for this very same reason. Another one of my loves is 'Muriel's Wedding'. (I felt watching this one, that I was Muriel ALL the way. lol.) One more honorable mention that I think would fall into this same category is 'Where The Heart Is' with Natalie Portman. These three are my ULTIMATE cheese-fest collection!!! ;)
