Why do people make a big deal about enjoying this movie?

I'm aware that Victor Salva is a monster, there's no denying about that. But I don't see people making a fuss about watching Polanski movies, for example.

I know Polanski is way more prolific than Salva and that Roseamary's Baby is a better movie, but there's still not excuse. If people can enjoy his movies, then they can also enjoy Jeepers Creepers.

I don’t stop watching films because directors, actors or producers do something immoral or illegal in their personal lives. If I did, I’d have very few things to watch.

I enjoyed this movie but JC2 is much better.

Though I will admit seeing Salva in the behind the scenes footage of JC2 slobbering over one of the young male actors did creep me out more than the monster.

Polanski is one of the greatest directors of all time. Many of his films are very respected and highly regarded by critics and film historians. That makes it harder to swear off ever watching a film he made.

Salva's claim to fame is Jeepers Creepers, which is 'merely' a film that horror fans like. It's not 'high art' and he hasn't much else to his name.

I really like this film and still watch it every now and again. I liked it when I first saw it around 2002 when I was 8 years old and didn't know a thing about Salva. I'm not going to start pretending I don't like it nor will I bin it from my collection.

Salva's a dirty bastard but JC is a great horror film.
