Cult classic?

I think so. I hold this film in high regard. In my opinion, it is the last great creature feauture. It's comparable to any similar film from the 80s, the time period in which creature features were perfected. Movies like The Thing, Predator, Aliens, etc. all had an original story, great looking (practical) effects, and a brilliant mythology around the creature that leaves just enough to the imagination. Jeepers Creepers follows the same formula and the only reason I have to call it a cult classic instead of a classic is the time period it came out in. It'd be more revered if it came out in the 80s.

Great movie that deserves more recognition.

I can't say I cared much for the sequel though. It was very generic and screamed "cash-in" to me.

It would of been a million times better if it was just some crazed slasher... Not a giant bat... Ruined the whole film completely.

Totally agree. It was the best flick to come along in a very, very long time. There's been nothing quite like it since either, with the possible exception of Reeker.

I agree. It is one of those movies I could watch over and over. It was quite well done!

I'd say it falls into the camp of cult classic, or at least it might down the road. I enjoyed the film overall. The first 30 minutes in particular are quite great, and though it falls apart a bit after that, I generally liked it.

It may be an outright Horror classic.

It's very memorable and was quite a big intellectual property for a hot minute. It did feature on r/horrors top 100 horror films of all time list a year or two ago. A lot of people who grew up with this film, having seen it as kids, are now in their 20s and 30s. They hold it in high regard. This always happens, people see things whilst young, really enjoy it, and sing it's praises into adulthood. They have a lot of nostalgia for it.
