Did Michael fake Hunter's email?

When Ben and Michael supposedly got an email from Hunter telling them not to worry, was that a fake email sent by Michael?

Hmm, I never thought it was, maybe. Hunter doesn't seem the email type.

I don't think it's in Michael's character to do something like that, even if it would make his love (Ben) feel better. I think the email was real.
