Can we all agree that Qaf was directed, edited and insert other technical stuff here, very beautifully, along with the amazing OST

So what are your favorite scenes in terms of how it was shot, edited, etc.
Here are some that I can remember:

- Forever Young dance sequence- the slow-motion scene when Brian was leading Justin to the dance floor, then there was a shot of a hand up in the air and there were falling glitters. The perfect music. The scene was just magical.

- Dumpster Boy investigation- Kenneth Rickert didn't show up, the loft was in darkness, Brian smoking by the window then justin coming up behind him, the up close shot of Justin smoking the cigarette and the sound of it sizzling. Very cool.

- Brian and Michael hospital rooftop- I have no explanation for this, just love it for the simple reason that Gale looked hot.

-Brian and the joys of scarfing(lol)- this whole sequence, the music, Brian playing with scarf, just everything about this scene is perfect.

I'm rewatching season 1, I know there's tons more, I just can't remember at the moment.

EDIT: I know these are all Brian's scenes, but seriously, they're the one that sticks to me.

There is one scene that especially comes to mind. There have been so many Brian/Justin scenes in the loft throughout the years that I am not 100% sure of the time-line but I think it was towards mid-S2 when Justin was questioning Brian as to why he's still around and if he was just there with him because of the bashing. Justin's sat at the table where he often draws and Brian's next to him, but it's shot with the naked guy (I always think it's "ugly naked guy" from Friends lol) painting at the center and B and J in corner on the right side. (AN: this is super random but for anyone liking this type of cinematography do watch the movie 'Ida'! I really loved how it was shot with the characters often in the corners or sides of the shot.)

I have other favorites but most have been mentioned already. I pretty much love all Babylon dance scenes, especially the classic 'Let's Hear It For The Boy' scene (that end with B and J on the screen behind Michael, bonus points for Emmett's killer moves), Emmett's fantasy with him and Drew, 'Forever Young', and there's one scene where the whole gang's on the dance floor and they are dancing in slow mo with the camera zooming quick from one to another but I can't remember which scene (eta: I checked, it's the opening scene of 1x18, love this episode as a whole it's one of my favorites!)

Oh and the last scene with Brian and Justin was very pretty, the shot through the window and that lightning.

I think the aesthetics combined with the music are definitely contributing factors in this show's success. They enhance the story so well.

I was just re-watching S3 Ep 6. At the end of the episode, Ethan-The-Fiddler is playing in Harrisburg, and Justin is moping around Woody's. He's sitting at the bar, and talks with Brian for a few minutes (the gorgeous, moody song "Sola Sistim" by Underworld is playing).

The last scene is a close-up of half of Justin's face, and the screen-wipe is actually the bartender walking across the frame! Then the credits come up.

Just one of many great little touches that make this show a visual work of art.

As much attention a I try to pay to the camera work, I never noticed that.

This thread id just to good to get away.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which IMDb threads get deleted. Active boards seem to lose threads quickly, but when I look at some obsure movie or TV show, there are pages and pages of threads.

The camera work always amazes me on this show. Today I'm watching S4, Ep 7, with Vic's funeral. Debbie's going crazy with the Christmas decorations. We cut to Emmett in bed. The shot is sideways, so we see him straight up and down. "Joy to the World" starts blasting. Emmett wakes up in a panic, and the camera follows him as he sits up, turning as he goes (with the most hilarious expression on his face!).

They do a lot of nifty camera tricks like this on the show.

There truly isn't any reason to how the imdb threads work. Some shows that haven't had a post in years have twenty pages on their forums. But the qaf boards only get three pages before posts start falling off the board. Not only that, but if more than a week goes by, the qaf board loses almost a whole page at a time. Seems like different rules for different boards. Tried to discover why this is so, but never got any explanation from the powers that be.
