'Paid in Full' vs 'Belly'...

Out of these two movies Paid in Full kicks Belly in the nutz...!...though, Belly's movie quality was better...Paid in Full had a better plot, better acting, and it wasn't a fvucking mess like Belly was...just imo...get at mae' peep's...much respect...

Paid in Full

Ace is an impressionable young man working for a dry cleaning business. His friend, drug dealer Mitch goes to prison. In an unrelated incident, he finds some cocaine in a pants pocket. Soon, Ace finds himself dealing cocaine for Lulu. Via lucky breaks and solid interpersonal skills, Ace moves to the top of the Harlem drug world. Of course, unfaithful employees and/or rivals conspire to bring about Ace's fall.

Vs

Belly

Tommy Brown and his friend Sincere are gangsters who have learned how to make a good living by dealing drugs and pulling armed robberies. Tommy and Sincere have been able to move out of the ghetto in Queens where they were raised and relocate to an upscale section of Manhattan; they would seem to have it made, but both realize that their lives are headed toward a dead end. Sincere begins getting in touch with his African roots and tries to convince his girlfriend Tionne that they should emigrate to the Motherland, while Tommy has a religious awakening and joins the Nation of Islam.

PiF had actors in the lead roles.

Paid in Full all the way.

Belly was a big boring mess, from uncapable lead actors to the bad directing. Really the worst example of a hood movie that is all style, no substance and with a couple of A-list rappers thrown in to get people interested. Just a cynical cash-in and an awful movie

Don't get me wrong, I like some of the folks involved, but Nas should stick to rapping and Hype Williams to directing music videos where his visual talents can shine in 3 minute bursts.

I would choose Belly over Paid in Full because it was the first time you saw the hood under such a gritty and unforgiving light. A previous poster said he prefers PiF because it actually had actors and that's cool but I prefer Belly because it didn't. Style, authenticity, and a feeling of credibility made this one of the most fascinating films to watch.
