some questions about the mini series

I've seen the series several times but there are still some things that confuse me!
1-they never said how Sukeena disapeared or if she died so what happened to her?

2-near the end in the tower April appears behind Cathy and Steve knocks April down but she looks like an adult and Steve say's she's been here in a place they cant see in rose red-i thought April dissapeared when she was a child?. When Steve knocks her over it looks like her spirit 'escapes' the body, so does this mean she's now set free?

3-it looks like it is implied that Steve falls for Rachel(sister) it looks like they are a couple at the end but nothing is said about that

4-after their first night at rose red noone seems to notice except Annie that Pam is missing for almost all day until Emery sees her dead-I found that really odd since all of them are supposed to technically stay together

and lastly-why did Sukeena and Ellen look like demons? was it the evil of the land that turned their spirits into other evil entities? the other people who died/disapeared just looked dead/like zombies so were they a different kind ghost?

if anyone knows the answers it would be help to understand the story more, thanks! :)

1 - I'm not sure, I never finished the book about it, but I'm sure it would be in there somewhere.

2 - I doubt she was freed by that simple act of knocking her over... just escaping the body to move to another part of the house perhaps.

3 - It's one of those things you can think if you want... that they either stayed friends or became a couple :)

4 - It was quite hectic the second day, people wandering around and getting lost, Emery was by himself a lot too, and I doubt anyone would have thought she was dead because they didn't know RR was coming to life so soon.

5 - Yes, the house poisoned the both of them somewhat, they were the ones who loved and dedicated their lives to the house and were easily persuaded to become poisoned by the house, just like Emery's mother was poisoned after she died, trying to hurt her son and take him into the afterlife too, but if he wasn't there she probably wouldn't have done much.
