Did Joyce get called Dee?
Me and my mom heard her being called "Dee" twice or so, was this what was said or why would she be called this?

Unfortunately they never went into why Steve called Joyce "Dee".
Personally I would have assumed maybe it was a cute nickname to play on the word Dr. As in Doctor Joyce Reardon. "D" for Doctor.
Honestly I have no idea but that would be the best guess probably :)
