Why did Rose Red *spoliers*

Why did Rose Red keep "warning" Emiry? Why did it send those two ghosts to just stand in his kitchen and look at him? Wouldn't Rose Red want to have people to come into it and not keep them away? Does it elaborate on this scene in the book or something?

Besides, even if they were trying to warn him, he wasnt going to listen since he needed the money :) (Also, just a note. The book is on the history of Rose Red, in particular Ellen Rimbauer and her experiences there, there is no mention of the "group" of Joyce's going there. Although "Steve" and "her" give a foreword in the book)

None of the movie made sense. Sometimes the ghosts weren't there and couldn't hurt you, other times they jumped out and screamed "RAAARGGGGGH" at which point the actor being rarghed at would die off screen. How or why is beyond me. One of the worst haunted house stories I've ever seen, and there are a lot of really terrible haunted house movies. Also, there is no book.

Now let's go bury this dead hooker.

Yes, there is a book. It's called "Diary of Ellen Rimbauer - My Life At Rose Red":

The book was written AFTER the movie came out, and is more of Ellen's life and has no mention of the story in the movie.

Also, it has to do that this was made for a network channel, not even cable--ABC, NBC or CBS, I don't remember which. So it had to be pretty mild or the censors wouldn't let it play.

For a made-for-tv movie, it wasn't bad. I actually enjoy it.

There are potholes on the road less traveled....

Nevertheless...it is a book about Rose Red, making your categorical statement that "there is no book" untrue.

I was kind of confused about that as well. One idea is that they was spirits either not in control of the house at least at the time.

maybe the tourists who got 'ate' were the ones doing the warning and not ellen and whatever here name was. i like the movie. i dont take it seriously like a silence of the lambs, but its a beautiful house and a lot of fun to watch.

Ask a fish head anything you want to, they won't answer. They can't talk.
