Which part of the movie freaked you out?
Tell me what part freaked you out.
shareWasn't supposed to be creepy but. . . .Emery's big a$$ mother running through the woods yelling his name. I couldn't get her voice out of my head for about two days. She made my skin crawl.
shareWhen Emery awakes with the dead woman on the side of the bad. I don't think the dead woman was scary but just the idea of waking up with a zombie on your side just freaked me out!
shareI was freaked out by the withered hand under the bed. Brr! Made me remember the monster under the bed (yes, I really believed in it) when I was little. I was doing the running jump into my bed after watching it.
shareFor me it was easily when the Christian Automatic Writer (Forgot her name) Is in the kitchen looking out the window, and you see a glimpse of Sukeena...Jesus Christ that woman is scary. And her hat!
shareBelieve it or not the very very last moment... where Joyce's spirit is hanging out in the tower. tooo tooo creepy.
shareDefinetly the zombie thing. I saw the movie when I was 13 and it freaked me out alot, so much that I was checking under my bed for any supernatural signs.
Back then I also saw house on the haunted hill, and some part of that freaked me out too.
Me too, so spooky!
share"Tell me what part freaked you out."
The way what was a six hour miniseries on TV turns into a three and a half hour movie on the DVD once you take the commercials out. <wink>
Actually, I think it comes in at just under four hours sans commercials.
two parts freaked me out
1. when kathi is in the kitchen and she looks out the window and there's Sukeena
2. at the end when all the ghost/zombies surround Joyce when she's in the house by herself (not something i would want to happen to me)
[deleted]
Definitely. Did you wonder just what would be underneath it?
shareThe part where you can see the zombie's reflected in Emery's glasses when he's in his kitchen freaked me out real bad for some reason. Everytime I watch this it still gives me bad goosebumps
shareThe parts that freaked me out the most are:
1. When April went missing, and you hear her singing even though she's not there and the scream.
2. How Ellen Rimbauer looked when she was old and Joyce was saying "That was the last time anyone ever saw her." The smile on her face was just creepy!
3. Sukeena in the yard as Cathy is looking outside, scared the sh*t out of me when i first saw it.
The statue part was incredibly spooky. But parts that kept me from turning off the light were when that hand crawls up on Emery in bed, and the hand from under the bed. I keep looking over my shoulder just from typing this!! Also, the music that plays when Kathy is in that wine cupboard. Well, I don't know if you would call it music, but it is freaky to the max.

OMG...scariest for me is when Cathy is looking out of the window in the kitchen and sees Sukeena standing in the garden. I always have to turn the volume down at that part! Second is when that dead celebrity chick was in the bed next to Emery. The hand you see on his stomach isn't scary but when she raises herself up it is scary!
shareSukeena in general scared me...those freaky, protrudent eyes....*shudder.* Anyway, the part with her that scared me the most was when she dragged Mrs. Waterman away and was like "You just hush, now!" SO creepy. Oh, Bollinger was scary too- all of the time. Anytime he showed up and said that "SAY CHEESE" line I'd freak out.
There's more, but those are the main things that really scared me. Honestly, this is the only movie that ever gave me nightmares. It's not like the special effects were incredibly realistic or anything. I guess the idea of getting lost has always scared me, so a house that you could never escape really made an impression on me. I thought maybe I had overreacted as a kid- I was only 13 when it came out, so I got scared pretty easily- but I'm going on twenty now, and I just watched this again with my friends and it scared all of us. One of them ended up having nightmares too.
...I salute you, Stephen King.
God has a sense of humor. Just look at the platypus.
Lol no one has said it yet...
But when Nick Hardaway gets hit by the zombie when he pushes the lady in the room... scared the *beep* out of me..
And Sukeena In general scared the *beep* out of me haha.
In my opinion the scariest part is when Emery walks into his own kitchen in the middle of the night to get something out of the fridge and those two female zombies are just standing there with the window behind them. Scared the sh*t out of me.
Marvolo? What's that - a washing detergent?
The things that scared me were
Bollinger (as a zombie)
when Joyce was surrounded by the ghosts at the end her screaming really freaked me out.
Sukeena was creepy.
When Steve as a little boy got lost in the house and Ellen showed up
there's other stuff but I can't quite remember them right now, but those were the scariest
Why must close-minded people always open their mouths?share
I remember having a few nightmares regarding the film myself, but there are a couple of scenes that particularly gave me the goosebumps.
They have all been mentioned already but it was when Mrs. Waterman is being dragged into the wine cellar and you can see Sukeena's freaky face. Another scene was when Kathy was screaming and you could hear it echoing throughout the house, and then everytime the dead Kevin would scream out Say Cheese. Boy he is freaky!! Oh yeah, and then when you see him hanging in the mirror library when Kathy is trying to get out and his eyes open.
Freaky times, freaky times.
The blood in the fridge and reflection of April and the actress in Emery's glasses at the beginning. Oh and when the zombies were trying to get in Emery's pants. Those were pretty creepy. Poor Emery. No wonder he's such an @sshole.. I probably would be too if I went through every day seeing dead zombie people.
shareok, i don't think that anyone has said this... when the door slams and Emery's fingers get chopped off... it's not really "scary" but you just have to shudder when it happens, so it def. is a "FREAKY" moment!
shareSukeena's eyes =P
āIām hard up girls, but not quite that hard up.ā - Emery Waterman (Rose Red)
Every single part! I was so scared during the whole movie!

The evil look Pam had after she lured the old guy outside to see that statue. Just really eerie when she smiles.
Emery and the two ghosts in his kitchen just standing there...

Anything with Sukeena has me looking over my shoulder, especially the part with Kathy in the kitchen. And of course, Emery and the zombie chick still gets to me when I can't sleep at night.
I was twelve when I saw Rose Red for the first time. I came in right at the part where it shows the ghost girl with the shriveled arm, singing The Itsy Bitsy Spider, or whatever song it is. For some reason I've never been able to get that image out of my head, just of her walking towards the camera.
I hate dark hallways thanks to this movie. ^_^ But I still watch it whenever I get the chance.
"Virgin olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, olive oil with a questionable past..."
For me, definitely the part with the singing/dancing girl who comes out of the (armoire?) with the shriveled arm...very unsettling!
