Better than Godfather?

I just saw it the other day and i have to say this is my new favourite movie of all time. the acting was suberb and i tip my hat to jerry o'connell he was good as he was in this than he was in shawshank. christopher walken's role bugged me in this film as i dont think hes not experienced enough to play the part. the diagolue and character development was deep and complicated which may be a bad thing for a kids movie. the use of 3d animations was astounding. i sat down hoping for a comedy when i got a really good movie. 8/10

I disagree... I thought walken played his part well and I thought this movie was on par with the godfather. It's use of mis-en-scene was disapointing to me, but the lighting was spectacular.

You're choice in calling this a 'kids movie' I find offensive. This movie has some very strong themes, and like you say a very extensive character development.

Overall I'd give this 7/10, while I'd give the godfather 8.

i sinecerely apologise the charatcer develop was quite deep. godfather was not as good in my books as this movie though

reply

You're quite the comedian.

Coop! You remind me today of a small Mexican Chihuahua!

I think that in time, this might be considered better than the Godfather. Right now, I'd have to give it to Godfather. The main reason is because Godfather 2 was fantastic. If they make Kangaroo Jack 2, then I could see this up there with Godfather. Right now, it doesn't have support from any other films in it's series. Only time will tell.

They have made Kangaroo Jack 2

Kevin Smith will one day egg Greasy Reese Witherspoons house

^^Either half retarded or a unique comedian. Judging by the posting history it's difficult to tell.

reply

i honestly dont know how you can compare the two
The godfather is much better then this.

reply

I can't believe you people are serious! It's like asking if a two-day-old hot dog is better than filet mignon and lobster.

reply

Hahaha no way.. look who it is! and yes my thoughts exactly.

reply

Its better than Citizen Kane!

Its that man again!!

A cinematic masterpiece, will be studied by film and history scholars for years to come.

Why hasn't this been added to the National Film Registry yet?

reply

Really this is a true masterpiece. Very rarely can a movie make you fall off your chair laughing at the beginning and leave you crying at the end. I really felt the struggle of Louis Booker as the movie progressed.
