handguns in Australia?

How were Frankie and his goons able to obtain shotguns and handguns in Australia; aren't they illegal there? Looks like gun control in Australia is a failure.

reply

lol, more like the idiots who made the film didn't research Australia AT ALL.

reply

yeh did you see the way they depicted alice springs (which is apperently off a dirt road directly north of sydney) with dirt roads and rundown buildings, i was half expecting someone to start up a game of knifey spooney

Seems the only idiot is you.

Rifles, shotguns and handguns can be obtained if you have a gun licence and a valid reason why you need one. Semi-automatic weapons are illegal.

In the country (outback) most farmers have one or more weapons.

This information is readily available if you did any sort of research. Maybe you should try that next time, before you try to show us how witty you are?

criminals obtaining illegal weapons, who would have thought it?

every country has guns

reply

No. They are not. Semi-automatic weapons are illegal.

Now since we talking about criminals especially "the mob" it's not unreasonable to think they have "connections" with other organised crime gangs.

After all they managed to find a "hitman".

reply

What is more interesting about that scene is that it is a Law Enforcement Officer (the 'Guide') that is helping them get weapons.

reply

Late reply here, but, it should be noted that the officer was undercover which is revealed at the end when he arrests Frankie and company.
