When Mike drove to Chicago all night to speak with Mr Nitti(sp?) he left Michael in some room that was filled with people. What was that room? It seemed like no one was planning on going anywhere and everyone was reading newspapers. Everytime I watch this movie I try to figure out what that room is for. It was an excellent place to hide Michael but I always wonder what it was. Anyone?

I've no reason for thinking so, but I had the idea it might be a labor hall, where men were waiting, hoping to be called to go to work. The Depression was on, and there was a lot of unemployment.
