Hi, when this film came out ten years ago myself and my then wife made our way to the cinema about 30 miles away to see it.

As we got near, it annoyed me that she kept on referring to 'road to peridition'. I found this funny and pointed out on several occasions that 'peridition' is not a word whilst driving there.

So she was insistent that I was being a fool and that she was right. An argument ensued and we turned the car around to drive home as it became heated before even reaching the cinema. I in my infinite wisdom thought that repeating the words 'road to perdition' constantly until she agreed that I was right and she was not only a fool but was wrong and should bow to my superior vocabulary.

Her response was to throw her wedding and engagement ring out the car window! I to say the least was not particularly enthralled. And we eventually stopped and searched but never found the rings.

We didn't last long after that. Why couldn't they have just called it 'road to repent' or something some idiot could say! Anyway, don't worry about me, no way I could live with a buffoon anyway and life took much better twists for me in the end.

Saw the film for the first time last night (which I did enjoy) and managed a nostalgic chuckle.

Correcting a women is a no win for a man. It doesn't matter if you're right she will make you pay.Whether its withholding sex or any number of things. It wasn't the movie that made you bring up. It was a woman's illogical,overemotional response to being wrong. You should be glad to get out of that marriage that fast.She would just become a miserable person each year and do everything to make you suffer.Women will remember everything and throw it in your face every change they get.

Exactly the way you should look at it. The best time for a divorce is during the engagement. You’re clearly better off without that woman in your life.

I must share an observation.

There was not one buffoon in that car, but two. Witness: "I in my infinite wisdom thought that repeating the words 'road to perdition' constantly until she agreed that I was right...". It sounds as if neither of these pinheads were(are)mature enough for a weekend commitment let alone one that's supposed to last a lifetime.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

This thread sort of reminded me of my ex-girlfriend. Not that my situation was as extreme as the OP's, but reading his post reminded me of how fragile my ex's ego could be, especially when it came to little petty things that didn't matter. We both were big fans of Inglorious Basterds during its release and saw it twice at the theater. She kept insisting that the character of Hans Landa (Christopher Waltz) was played by Daniel Craig. When I politely pointed out that she was incorrect, she got really angry with me.

Sometime later, she was introducing True Romance to me. She had seen it many times before and I had been wanting to watch it for some time. Anyway, at some point during the movie, an actor name Gregory Sporleder shows up on screen for about a minute. He's credited as "Burger Stand Customer" in the credits...very small part. My girlfriends says, "You recognise him?" I thought to myself, "I've seen him before in Say Anything." Before I could say anything, my gf said, "It's Quentin Tarantino!" To me, they look nothing alike, but that besides the point; I had learned from the past NOT to say anything and just roll with it. It saved me a lot of headaches in the long run.
