Thoughts on ''Jill''?

I think she should have been the one for Hal. She was beautiful inside and out as evidenced by her looking the same even after his ''curse to see people as the really are inside''. She only rejected him at first not only because of his looks but due to his judgemental attitude towards women's looks. When she saw that he had ''changed'' (dating obese Rosemary) Jill wanted to start a romantic relationship with him. She was the most genuine character in the film.

Maybe the "curse" didn't work on her because he knew what she looked like before he was hypnotized?

I've always felt that her character was kind of judgmental and shallow. She was not interested in Hal before because she thought he was shallow. But now that she sees that he isn't shallow or that there is something special about him because he is dating someone who is obese, then she is interested and wants it for herself. Additionally, her comments in reference to Rosemary when talking to Hal about looks, she says something along the lines of "I can tell looks are definitely not important to you" all wide-eyed, made me feel like she is actually a shallow person. Also, doesn't she try to date Hal when she knows he is in a serious relationship?

I agree, but she was too late. Hal's heart already belonged to Rosemary

It happens that way sometimes.
