Hal did not deserve the curse

I know this movie is 20 years old but here's my take...

Hal was an ambitious guy who was looking to move up both in the world in his career and was looking for a woman to match his high ideals. But so what?

It was funny enough when he got cursed the woman he ended up chasing after was an obese rich girl who's father was the CEO of his company. The thing is, though Rosemary had a sweet side and did volunteer work she was also quite greedy and privileged. She could stuff her face on her parents dime and did not seem to be fully employed. Hal on the other hand worked for everything he had, and he didn't have all that much. I really don't think he deserved to end up with a fat chick.

Well, Hal was so blinded by what media tells you to be pretty.
Plus he did not care about inner values at all.
So the curse caused the complete opposite effect.
As Rosemary had such a good heart, Hal fell in love with that.
Remember, he was very happy to be with here!

Depends on the curse lol. This curse made Hal a better person and a happier one as well. Without it, maybe he would have convinced some high maintenance arm candy to marry him who would eventually divorce him.
