What if it was a good movie?
If it turned out to be a great film like First Contact was, I bet they would have made at least 1 more movie with the TNG cast. Rather than making us wait all those years for the reboot film.

I imagine that they could've figured a way to work Riker's ship in, though whether fans would've been happy with Data Lite is another question. Then again, if Q was in it, he could've snapped his fingers and changed B-4 into Data.

I doubt it. Firstly the cast seemed to want this to be the last film. I also think that Paramount wanted to move the Star Trek franchise on with Enterprise - at least on TV.
