Will we ever get an Extended Cut?

According to the trivia, Baird cut over a third of this movie out for time. The problem is, he is not really a director who cares about motivations and plot; he is a trained editor. He cuts for pacing. Subsequently, we got a well-paced action-y movie, but it felt disjointed.

I read the book based on the original screenplay and it was fantastic compared to what we ended up with on film. The motives of Schinzon are more clear, and the culture and back-stabbing politics on Romulus are more prominent, setting the stage for a much richer story.

I'd watch a 3-hour movie, if it's good...

It's usually the director who does an extended cut of the movie and I don't see Baird coming back to do it.

Ah, ok. I guess that isn't going to happen, since supposedly it was a bad experience for him and for Paramount. Doubtful he would ever re-visit that material

I think just about all of the deleted scenes are on the DVD. U could just imagine where they would fit into the movie. This movie also made less money than any other Star Trek movie ever released in the theaters. So I think they would just prefer to forget about it.

Would love to see this but doubtful we ever will. Paramount should give this project to some rook director or editor and patch together the deleted scenes and try and recoup some of the lost revenue. I'd buy it. Or maybe some fan would do it as a fan edit and post it on youtube or someplace.
