A pathetic end to the series

This movie, while decent at best as a stand alone film, should NOT have been the movie to end TNG. Killing Data and introducing B4 was a horrible waste of TNG history since Data's path to humanity was never fully developed and we already had a brother of Data: Lore. A half witted story of Picard having a clone or bastard offspring or whatever was ridiculous.

After rewatching the entire TNG series on Netflix, it's difficult to imagine an acceptable way to end everything but this was definitely a sub par way of going out. In reality, this stupid movie was actually the end to the Enterprise, TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager eras. Now that Jar Jar Abrams has the controls, everything we knew and loved has been erased.

I hear ya. I was coming to this board to post exactly that. This crew should have had a better send off. It didn't even feel like a Ster Trek movie. I think they could have gone with another director, although if they kept the same story I'm not sure how much that would change.

I can't believe this came out 14 years ago!

Worst Trek film, out of all 13.

I agree with you completely ... I think they made mistake not getting someone familiar with the "Star Trek" universe and going with someone that did not want to make a sci-fi movie. I could have seen a few more movies with this crew, bring the other series into it as well, but this basically killed the Prime Timeline.

Now that J.J. Abrams, or Jar Jar like you call him, he basically wiped out everything from the TOS to Enterprise (Television and Movies) for rewriting the timeline a new. I enjoy the two movies in the new timeline, but they do not feel "Star Trek" and more "Star Wars." To me "Star Trek" will always be what came before this reboot.

I wouldn't even say it was a decent end to TNG, the series finale was far better. It was convoluted at best. And Jar Jar Abrahms (brilliant reference) screwed up Trek even more so that fans of Alley McBeal, and 7th heaven and Gilmore Girls liked the new films. This is not the ST Demographic!! When Nimoy came on screen and told me Gene Roddenberry's ST was done & full of Sh*t, I stopped counting on ST for good stories or content. JJ Screwed also my other fav Star Wars.I should have seen Nemesis as the beginning of the end of quality Sci Fi.Insurrection was the last good ST film by far. Trek was done when Enterprise tanked.

All of you are so right. I also can't believe it's been 14 years. Insurrection was pretty good but I thought first contact was best TNG movie. To be honest, this movie never should've existed, they shouldn't even have carried it on that long. At the point when this movie came out, the entire bridge crew should've been captains.

I really, really wish we could've just had a Voyager movie instead. I know that series took a lot of crap from fans but it really had some very good episodes.
