Seann William Scott deserved an Oscar nomination.

I kid you not. If for what reason other than exceptional contribution to the craft of filmmaking are Academy Awards given out? And when one not only accomplishes the characterization of a role, but does it in spades, that's when a nomination, at the very least, is deserved. He elevated what would've been an otherwise mediocre movie at best to a truly hilarious, very good movie. Some might say the script wasn't very demanding but I think they discount just how hard it is to actually make someone laugh, and Stifler had me laughing just about every time he made an appearance. This role was made for Seann. Sure, he might've been playing an excentuated version of himself, and I think most of us know someone very similar to Stifler (I definitely do, perhaps that's why I liked him so much?), but in some ways being familiar with a type of character actually makes them harder to play as people have their own expectations of what they should or shouldn't do. And I actually wasn't that crazy about his character in the first movie, I just really thought he did an exceptional job in this sequel.

He did an excellent job, he does not look much, in real life, like Stifler, except maybe on the charismatic side and in speaking what he thinks (people who met him are unanimous about his nice manners), BUT he is far too young. The guy has talent to re-invent himself in other roles, and having to carry such an honor could be a drag rather than a motivation to continue to re-invent himself. In fact, even without that award, this role over drag him, imho.
