...this is a great movie that lets me know about a bit of recent history I was not aware of. Sad so many children went through this.

Indeed. It’s actually really heartening to read your post, I think this was an important film in many ways, primarily because someone needed to document the atrocities and appalling human rights violations that the indigenous Australian people suffered following colonisation. That you received that message loud and clear validates that importance.

All that aside, it’s a cracking adventure story and a wonderful film about the resilience of the human spirit. Definitely Noyce’s best film to date.
