Why was this released in October?

I don't care how good it is, OF COURSE a Christmas movie is going to bomb in October. What the heck were the marketing guys thinking on this one? Or is there some kind of conspiracy to destroy Affleck going on?

IT was so long delayed that I'm sure that it was released just to release it .

Don't know if that makes any sense to me. If it's that bad, then put it straight to video, but wait till Christmas.

I'm thinking some studio guy got drunk and signed the wrong piece of paper or something.

This movie would've made more money if it released in November or December. A Christmas movie in October (one week before Halloween), WTF???

they are hopeing to make a quick release to video in time for Chrismas and wanted to get some box office money before hand as well.

Or some marketing exec feared the movie would be swanped during the chrismas rush and tought it would be a good Idea to release it first.

Like all the summer block busters who try to get the earlyest date possible to avoid compition from an other big blockbuster.

I read that this movie was supposed to have been released last year but there was some conflict with another Kevin Smith project ( if memory serves me right). It's too bad about the release date but, honestly, the movie is just not good. I have no quarrel with Ben Affleck, I just think he ( and others ) are grossly overpaid. And I sure don't feel sorry for him - he bagged over 12 mil for this disaster.
