Catherine O'Hara is one of the only reasons why I want to see this movie (now that I think about it, she may be the only reason). I thought she was a riot in the Home Alone movies and also wonderful as Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas.

No, SCTV is a sketch comedy show from the 70s/80s about a fake TV station/network/cable channel (through out it's three different versions.) Other people on it included Rick Moranis, Harold Ramis, Eugene Levy, and John Candy.

It's similar, but I don't think it is.

She looks very lovely in the previews to the film.

And isn't Nightmare Before Christmas wonderful? I love how she sounds so Canadian as Sally. :D

Aw, really? I enjoy being there (I'm Garbo on it).

I definately agree. I'm just waiting for her and Eugene (Levy) to come out with a romantic comedy. She was hilarious in Orange County ("I protose a toast.")

Catherine O'Hara is a comic genius who is always watchable and always brings more to her role than is in the script. but even she comes off as gruff and abrasive in this poorly written film. As I stated in another thread, the only thing worth watching in this film is a beautifully understated comic performance from James Gandolfini.
