I'm just noticing significance in ending

I always saw where the went to the diner, but never noticed the significance that Drew spent lonely Xmases in diners with his mom, and had said that he hadn't been to one since he was like 18. Then he ended up in one with the fam he fell in love with. How sweet!

"Eva's sisters gave her a cross with Jesus on it for her birthday, the next day Jesus was gone!"

That little throwaway scene at the end always makes me cry--and it is very important to the theme of the movie. As a single person who DOESn't go in for the extended family scene, this movie is my anthem! When I first saw the movie and Drew explained the "pancake house" history, I thought, "Then pancake houses should be his Bethlehem!" So to see him and his new family eating pancakes at the end is very precious to me!
