Any1 else want to slap...

Kathryn Hahn's character??? Her character Michelle is the epitome of what guys hate. The neediness, the clinginess. I just want to grab her, shake her, slap her and shout "Wake the *beep* up! You're living in a dream world! You cannot MAKE him love you and you cannot impose your feelings on anyone! Back off and get real! Relax and take a chill pill!"

I mean, who tells someone they love them after 2 dates, and then says "You can tell he felt the same!" Deluded or what???

But then, my husband always did tell me I had too much testosterone. I took it as a compliment. I'm a good driver, good at any sport at which I try my hand and see the practical/common sense side of everything that most women fail to see.

I agree with what you say.

You must have missed the point. She's a caricature designed to be the literal and comedic embodiment of "all the things women do to scare men away." Without her the already paper-thin premise doesn't exist.

I suppose without comedic characters like hers, some girls might never recognize themselves and how foolish they look to others. It's just so damned frustrating how pervasive this behavior is.

I'm a woman and I would NEVER behave in that way, I certainly would never do ANY of those things Michelle did, or Andie did to push Ben away. I can't actually believe there are women out there that do.

How can a girl advertise to the eligible guys out there that she wouldn't do those things, as well as *not* exhibit symptoms of PMS?!, not ask if that Angelina look-alike walking by is hot,...how about NOT seek reassurance that she's not fat, not ask "where is this relationship going?", not dive for the bride's bouquet at a wedding as if it means that the boyfriend now *must* propose?!, not drool over Brad Pitt, etc, etc,...

In the western world of recreational dating she's considered deluded. But when people have sex on the first date and just use them a object for there own pleasure nobody bats an eye.

I think the Judy's were more annoying HAHA

reply

Its a bummer that you think most women do not have common sense....

We need to support & respect each other, or women will continue to be stereotypes this way...

I agree her behavior is ridiculous, but like other posters said that is the point.

reply

Exactly! That's the whole point of the movie. Did the OP miss the title and the fact that it was supposed to be ironic?

I fail to see what being a good driver and being good at sport has to do with anything, either. It's a bit scary that the OP is a woman, yet doesn't seem to respect most women. Yikes!

Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.

reply

I agree, Michelle is obviously an emphasised, comedic caricature and the OP needs a better attitude.

I loved the Michelle character precisely because she was so over the top.

She so reminded me of a former GF I had many moons ago, a lovely girl but I couldn't get away from her for more than a couple of minutes without her phoning my home, or my work (pre cell phone obviously)...
