In your opinion is this a must own movie?

shareTo me, this was a "must have" because I love the chemistry of the leads.
Found though that this is a definite "marmite" movie as most I know hate it as trite and shallow with lead characters whom many instantly take a dislike to.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
It's one of the best romcom movies I have seen so yes, it's a must!
shareNot a must OWN, but definitely a must SEE film. Whether on TV, NetFlix, rental, whatever, you should at least see this movie once. It was very good, and had quite a few laughs. Not roll on the floor laughing, but definitely funny moments.
shareI agree. This movie you have to own or see it when it's on tv.

Just curious - what are the "must own" romantic comedies you all would recommend?

Ok, i'm game. Rom-com isn't really my fav' genre, although i like to watch some every now and again, so this is a list compiled purely from my ratings after having sorted them by genres "romance" and "comedy" and ranked them in decreasing order, starting with 10/10 to 7/10. Which means i will discover with you what my favorite rom-coms are since i don't have anything close to a list in my head.
And i dunno about "must own" except for maybe the first 5-6, it's more like "enjoyable rom-coms". Some seem more romance and/or comedy than others, but that's what the ratings say so here we go:
- Amélie
- 500 Days of Summer
- Pretty Woman
- Hitch
- Me, Earl and the Dying Girl
- Coming to America
- Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
- Guess Who
- 2 Days in Paris
- Four Weddings and A Funeral
- As Good As It Gets
- Groundhog day
- About Time
- Bridget Jones's Diary
- High Fidelity
- 10 Things I Hate About You
- The Proposal
- Mr & Mrs Smith
- Jerry Maguire
- What Women Want
- Bedazzled
- The Change Up
- Meet the Parents
- Bad Teacher
- Meet the Fockers
- Heartbreakers
- The 40 Years Old Virgin
Special mention to Vicky Christina Barcelona, although there's not much comedy in it. As for this list, put on any of those movies, and i have a great time apparently... if my own ratings are to be believed. Which i do.
As for HtLaGi10D, i gave it a 6/10, which is also pretty good as far as rom-coms go i'd say.
People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs
I wouldn't say it's a must own but I would definitely say it's a must see, at least if you like rom-coms.
